What these messages are
Every message sent through SendingThx is a transactional delivery notification — triggered by a confirmed delivery event from a carrier or fulfillment partner, equivalent to a standard carrier delivery alert. Messages let you know a package has arrived, confirm that delivery to whoever sent it, and — where applicable — carry a reply back to the sender.
SendingThx does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages of any kind under this program. No message contains discount codes, promotions, or unrelated offers.
How you came to receive a message
There are two ways someone ends up receiving a SendingThx text, and both require an explicit, affirmative opt-in captured at checkout — nobody is texted automatically.
If you're the purchaser: you opted in yourself. At checkout, you were shown your own phone number alongside an unchecked-by-default consent box, and you only receive a message — for example, if the recipient responds to your gift — because you personally checked that box for your own number.
If you're the gift recipient: this is a Consumer-Initiated Viral Message. A purchaser made a real purchase from one of our retail partners and chose, themselves, to send you a one-time delivery notification. The purchaser — not SendingThx — manually enters your phone number and must affirmatively confirm they have your consent before it can be sent. That recipient confirmation is only available to check at all after the purchaser has separately opted themselves in first. SendingThx does not import contact lists, buy phone numbers, or message anyone the purchaser hasn't specifically identified and personally vouched for.
In plain terms: SendingThx doesn't collect phone numbers or build a contact list. The purchaser's number is entered and confirmed by the purchaser, for themselves. The recipient's number is entered by hand by the purchaser, for one specific delivery, with the purchaser's affirmative confirmation of the recipient's consent — and that confirmation can't even be reached until the purchaser has opted in for their own number first.
How consent is collected
Step 1 — purchaser confirms their own consent. At checkout, the purchaser sees their own phone number field and an unchecked-by-default box agreeing to receive SMS from SendingThx at that number, including a one-time message if the recipient responds. Nothing else on this panel is usable until this box is checked.
Step 2 — purchaser confirms recipient consent. Once step 1 is checked, a second section unlocks: the purchaser enters the recipient's phone number and checks a separate box confirming they have that recipient's consent to receive a one-time delivery notification from SendingThx. This confirmation is specific to that recipient and that order — it is not a store-wide setting, and it cannot be checked at all until step 1 is complete.

This cart-time consent flow is powered by SendingThx Gift Notifications, the SendingThx feature that handles delivery notifications and consent collection at checkout.
Example message
Here's what a SendingThx notification looks like — both on the recipient's side and the purchaser's side. Every message carries the sender name SendingThx, shown below as it appears in a live text thread.
Recipient receives:
"Bob Smith sent you flowers from Green Garden Florist. They just arrived! One-time message sent at Bob Smith's request via SendingThx. Reply STOP to opt out."
Recipient can reply with a quick thank-you — relayed privately back to Bob Smith.
Purchaser's text thread:
"Your birthday flowers from Green Garden Florist were just delivered to Mom. Reply STOP to opt out."
"Made my day! Love you so much, Bob 💕" — Mom's reply, relayed straight into your text thread.
Message frequency
Message frequency depends entirely on your delivery activity. A typical order generates one to three messages: a delivery alert, and — if you choose to respond — a confirmation that your reply was relayed. SendingThx does not send recurring, scheduled, or unprompted messages outside of an actual delivery event.

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
Opt-out and help
Reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving further messages tied to that delivery. For help with a message you received, email us directly at support@sendingthx.com rather than replying to the text.
Note: because each message is tied to a single delivery rather than a standing subscription, there's generally no ongoing list to opt back into — a new delivery from a participating retailer would generate a new, independent notification.
Privacy
The purchaser's phone number is entered directly by the purchaser at checkout and used only to deliver the notifications described above. The recipient's phone number is entered by the purchaser, by hand, for that specific order. Where a reply is relayed from the recipient back to the purchaser, SendingThx acts as a privacy-preserving intermediary — the recipient and purchaser are not shown each other's personal phone numbers.
Carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. SendingThx works to ensure timely delivery but cannot guarantee message delivery in all circumstances.
